At Grace Hill, we will work intentionally to maintain gospel-centrality, and this is why the gospel is not one of our core values. Rather, we believe the gospel informs and shapes who we are in Jesus Christ and therefore leads us to embrace the following values.
Worship
The gospel reconciles us to God. It is only through Jesus Christ that the worship of God is possible. Therefore, we value worship as the church gathers around the Word and ordinances, and as individuals who live by faith for the glory and delight of God.
Truth
The gospel is truth. We value truth as the revealed nature and will of God. As Jesus Christ said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me (John 14:16).” We seek to speak the truth in love and with grace in all our relationships.
Identity
The gospel changes who we are. We are new creations with new hearts. In Christ, we are saved, adopted, chosen, children of God. The Bible refers to our change of identity as regeneration. This means, when you are truly a Christian, you have been born again. We want our new position and status with God to be reaffirmed and understood because this changes the way we live, think, speak, and act. You have been transformed by the gospel!
Community
The gospel changes and shapes all our relationships. We are now united through Jesus Christ. We value community and place a high priority on personal relationships that disciple and hold one another accountable. This community of people covenants together as a church in order to live out the gospel. Therefore, we will gather for corporate worship on Sundays and small groups throughout the week. We will strive to be a diverse and friendly gospel community welcoming people of all backgrounds and ethnicities. We belong to God, and we will love one another, pray for one another, serve and support one another, rejoice with one another, and bear one another’s burdens. As we live in community, we will point to the truth and power of the gospel.
Mission
The gospel calls us to be a part of God’s mission and story. He calls us as his disciples to go out in all the world and makes disciples of all nations. We do this by sharing the goods news of Jesus Christ. We seek to live with gospel intentionality locally and globally. We desire to play our part in God’s mission through evangelism, equipping and developing leaders, and sending them to plant other like-minded churches in Chatham County and to the ends of the earth.
